Biointaxis is a biotech spin-off from the IGTP institute in Barcelona, developing gene therapy for Friedreich’s ataxia, a rare neurodegenerative disease. Their innovative approach targets both the central nervous system and peripheral organs.

The €2.17M funding, composed of €1.7M from the Ministry of Science and €466K from the European Commission, will allow Biointaxis to initiate clinical trials. This marks a critical step toward validating their therapy, which is currently the only candidate able to act on both the brain and peripheral organs like the heart.

 

Vega Chargers is a technology company focused on smart charging solutions for electric vehicles. Their advanced systems support fast and ultra-fast charging, helping power the global shift toward cleaner mobility infrastructure.

The €5M round was led by ORBIS with participation from Suma Capital and CDTI Innvierte. The funding will accelerate expansion across Latin America and support the rollout of the HPC Constellation, a 720 kW charger designed to dramatically cut EV charging times. Vega will also boost R&D and refine its technology.

 

 

Smart Vitamins is a biotech spin-off developing SV B-I, a nanotech-based therapy that has shown 100% effectiveness in flu prevention during rodent trials. Their tech, based on nutrient-delivery innovation, serves pharma, cosmetic, and nutraceutical markets.

The €2.1M raised from strategic investors including Medpoint and GP Pharm will finance human trials and scale development of their respiratory virus portfolio. The company also aims to validate the therapy’s efficacy against viruses like SARS-CoV-2 and expand its patent family

 

Bleta designs inclusive tech for elderly users, bridging the digital divide with accessible and intuitive digital interfaces. Their solution empowers senior citizens by simplifying how they engage with technology in everyday life.

The €550K raised, including €320K in private capital and €226K in public support, will help Bleta scale into new markets and reach one million users. Backers include First Drop VC, Ona Capital, and Altura Capital. The funds will also support product customizations and expand partnerships.

 

OVIANTA leverages AI to enhance the efficiency of doctors in clinical settings. Their platform structures medical data to reduce administrative burden and support better decision-making, without replacing existing hospital systems.

The €540K pre-seed round, backed by First Drop, Itnig, and Encomenda, will help scale operations and grow the development team. OVIANTA will also deploy its technology in more private clinics, validating use cases across multiple stages of the patient journey. The founders aim to make OVIANTA a must-have AI.

 

Carina IA develops AI solutions for public sector processes, including healthcare, legal services, and citizen support. Their AI assistant, Carina Chat, already serves over two million users in 30+ countries. It aims to become a leading player in civic-tech.

The €500K round, led by TRC with support from business angels, will fund the launch of Carina AI Studio, a hub for building AI products that automate workflows across public services and legal domains. The company plans to grow and increase their strong developer team.

 

Mainder is a Barcelona-based startup using AI to optimize recruitment workflows for talent agencies and HR consultancies. Their platform automates sourcing and selection, enhancing efficiency and decision-making.

The €600K round will fuel Mainder’s expansion across Spain and Latin America, while enabling further development of its AI-powered headhunting system, Hunt. The funds also help broaden their client base, including industry leaders like Grupo Lanak and Montaner


IRISBOND pioneers eye-tracking technology for assistive communication. Their hardware-software solutions enable individuals with motor impairments to interact with devices, promoting inclusion and autonomy.

The €4.5M investment will drive growth across Germany, France, and the U.S., while advancing the next generation of eye-tracking software and hardware. IRISBOND, already certified by Apple and working with Microsoft and Samsung, plans to grow its distributor network.

 

Kaiko Systems delivers AI-powered frontline intelligence for maritime and asset-heavy industries. Their platform combines mobile data capture and predictive analytics to enhance safety, compliance, and operations.

The €6M Series A, co-led by Hi inov and Flashpoint with Motion Ventures participating, will fund expansion into new markets and bolster AI capabilities. Kaiko is already used by industry players like Columbia Shipmanagement and TMS Cardiff Gas. This round enables them to scale product development.

 

Needle offers a data search and AI agent development platform that connects fragmented internal tools. It helps organizations unlock the value of their siloed information using RAG-powered retrieval and intelligent automation.

The $2.2M seed round, led by 468 Capital and Presight Capital, will grow the engineering team and push their go-to-market strategy. With thousands of users already using Needle to automate workflows, the company is rapidly becoming the foundation for AI adoption inside modern enterprises.
