— 01 · STARTING POINT
Professionalizing finance for a growing SaaS company
When we started working with Zinkee, the company already had an experienced management team, but needed to strengthen its finance area with a more senior and structured perspective.
The challenge was to move from a more operational finance setup to a structure capable of providing visibility, control and decision-making support. For a growing SaaS company, this meant properly understanding metrics such as MRR, controlling costs and preparing the basis for future funding processes.
It was also necessary to build a financial model that could analyze different growth scenarios without losing financial discipline.
— 02 · WHAT WE DID
A financial model to gain visibility and control
At The Startup CFO, we worked on implementing a robust financial model, focused on improving the accuracy and speed of reporting.
The company already had an internal accountant, so our role was to build a more strategic finance layer: reporting, monthly analysis, MRR tracking, cost control and scenario planning.
Monthly financial reporting
Design of a detailed and reliable reporting process, with monthly reviews alongside the team to adjust information in real time.
Financial model and scenarios
Development of a dynamic model with conservative, realistic and optimistic scenarios to plan growth while keeping cash under control.
MRR and cost control
Tracking of the gap between contractual MRR and invoiced MRR, together with detailed monitoring of operating costs.
— 03 · FUNDING
Un business plan para apoyar la financiación
Beyond financial reporting, we supported Zinkee in preparing a business plan that helped structure conversations with investors and financial institutions.
This work was key to securing the renewal of a credit line in 2023, giving the company greater financial flexibility to continue growing and prepare for future funding rounds.
— 04 · RESULTS
A solid financial foundation to keep scaling
Financial reporting
Faster, more reliable monthly process focused on decision-making
SaaS control
Greater visibility over MRR, operating costs and scenarios
Financing
Credit line renewal supported by a solid business plan
The collaboration helped build a financial infrastructure capable of supporting the company’s growth. With clearer reporting and a dynamic financial model, the team gained visibility over its operations and could make decisions with greater precision.
This case shows how a well-structured finance function can become a competitive advantage for a growing SaaS company. When metrics, planning and funding are aligned, the company can scale with more focus, more control and a clearer roadmap.
