— 01 · STARTING POINT
The financial foundation for scaling
When The Startup CFO started working with Otera in October 2023, the company was in a high-growth phase. Revenue was increasing, the product was gaining traction and the team was expanding.
That growth also brought more complexity. Otera needed a scalable finance structure capable of keeping up with the pace of the business, giving the management team visibility and preparing the company for future investment processes.
The challenge was especially relevant because of its B2B enterprise model: long sales cycles, proofs of concept, progressive implementations and revenue that needed to be understood across different maturity stages.
— 02 · WHAT WE DID
Turning financial precision into a strategic advantage
At The Startup CFO, we worked alongside the CEO and management team to create a reporting and financial control structure by department, allowing the company to track performance across each area of the business.
We also developed a dynamic financial model, connected to the company’s real operations and designed to support decisions around hiring, investment, product development and market expansion.
As the funding round approached, the work evolved toward preparing investor materials, financial due diligence and the data room. Financial information became a reliable tool for internal management and for responding quickly during the investment process.
Reporting and control
Implementation of department-level financial reporting, monthly closings and KPI tracking to improve business visibility.
Financial model
Development of a dynamic forecast with growth scenarios, investment, pipeline, contracted revenue, POCs and implementations.
Investor preparation
Organization of financial materials, data room and due diligence support to facilitate investor conversations.
— 03 · FUNDING
A Series A to accelerate expansion
In September 2024, Otera closed an €11M Series A round, led by Red River West and Alpha Intelligence Capital.
The investment allowed the company to accelerate international expansion, strengthen the development of its agentic AI automation platform and consolidate its position in the enterprise automation market.
During the process, financial clarity became a strength. Reporting, the financial model and the quality of information helped the company move forward with confidence and respond to investor requirements.
